INTRODUCTION TO APRIL’S DEVOTIONS
Sisters In The Faith
“But the angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. ” Matthew 28:5-6
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Who are these women? Over the years as I read my Bible, I have often admired the women I met there. Sometimes it was their commitment to their faith, sometimes it was their bravery, sometimes it was their intelligence, and sometimes it was their love and compassion for others. And sometimes my heart broke for the way they had been treated. I wondered why I hadn’t heard about some of these women in the hundreds of sermons I had listened to down through the years. I believe they contain important lessons for young girls.
Mothers…Grandmothers…Queens…Judges….Advisors…Servants…Construction Workers…Wives…Daughters There are so many interesting women from all walks of life; sisters in the faith with whom we can all relate. The best part is when we read about them in the Bible we see that they are not super women, they are just ordinary people like you and me. What a message. GOD created us, HE loves us and HE can use us to do HIS work where ever we are and whomever we might be.
It is my prayer that by getting to know some of our Biblical sisters in the faith you will be inspired to examine anew the ways in which GOD may be calling you to help our young girls grow up in faith, and experience first hand the love that comes with being a part of the Family of GOD.
Your sister in the faith, Wanda Scott Bledsoe
