INTRODUCTION TO JUNE DEVOTIONS
ALL THE RIGHT TOOLS FOR LOVING RELATIONSHIPS
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16, 17
Because my sister and I live so far away, we try to do all the maintenance work we can when we come home to visit our mother. As we made a list of what we thought we could accomplish in the time we had left and shared it with our mother, she told us about the tools our father, now deceased, would have used to do each project and where we could find them. Our father was a skilled carpenter and took pride in having the right tools for the job.
One of my projects during my visit with mother was to “thatch” the lawn. The handle of the thatcher I found in my father’s tool shed was broken. I went to several stores in search of a lawn thatcher only to be told that they no longer carried such a tool.
Fortunately, we can be confident that all the tools we need for loving relationships can be found in the BIBLE, free to all and always in stock. And the best part is that in JESUS CHRIST, we have the perfect role model.
I pray that you will find the tools in this month’s Scriptures and stories of faith helpful in building, nurturing, and sustaining loving relationships with family, friends and GOD.
